Top 5 Common Wage and Hour Mistakes

You see the ads on TV trying to get current and former employees to sue their employer for wage and hour violations.

Is your company in compliance with all of the wage and hour requirements?

Most companies actually violate some part of the wage and hour laws without even knowing it.  Are you one of them?

Here are the top 5 that most companies usually are guilty of violating at least one of them:

1 - Independent Contractor
misclassification
2 - FLSA exemption
misclassification
3 - Work time that is not paid but should be
4 - Commission employees, should they be hourly
5 - Final paycheck mistakes

Employers understand they must comply with a host of complex wage and hour laws, both under the Fair Labor Standards Act and state law.

This is particularly true in Florida, where HR professionals know that plaintiff attorneys are looking for potential wage and hour violations every time someone walks through the door who was just terminated.  Yet despite that, and in addition to frequent seminars given by employment attorneys to HR professionals – certain types of wage and hour mistakes persist.

At this meeting, attorney Will Cantrell, who has been representing businesses in wage and hour disputes for about a decade, will highlight the top wage/hour mistakes – including some that are on the rise.

Join us for this informative session and see if your company is following the law so you can keep those TV lawyers away from suing your company!
